KCCB
Welcome
to Keep Cocke County Beautiful's (KCCB) web-site, your information
source for litter prevention, beautification and solid waste reduction.
KCCB is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB).
We
are
a non-profit organization devoted to promoting a cleaner, healthier and
safer community and to protect our natural resources through education.
We have three areas of focus:
litter
prevention,
beautification
and
waste
reduction. We believe that behaviors - like littering - can
be changed.
We
believe that beautification can impact our economic growth and safety.
And we believe that recycling is a choice that we can embrace to keep
our landfill empty and hauling fees lower.
Please join us by volunteering in one of our many programs or special
events.

About KCCB
Keep Cocke County Beautiful is an affiliate of
Keep
America Beautiful.
We were first certified as an affiliate on November 12, 1993 but then
became inactive in 2002. We were then re-certified in July of 2004 and
are more active than ever.
KCCB has an 18 member volunteer Board of Directors and one paid staff
member.
KCCB is not a custodial service that can be
hired to do
clean-ups. We do not want our volunteers always picking up litter
because simple clean ups are not enough and do not work. Loose trash
returns in just a few days after clean up.
We
focus on
PREVENTION vs. PICKUP. Now, cleanups will always be part of our action
plan for a cleaner community but changing the behaviors and attitudes
that generate the litter is the long-term, lasting solution.
